Little Kiddos

Yesterday I had the pleasure of hanging out with four different children. So what do I de? Bust out the camera of course! I love taking pics of kids because they don't pose so if you get cute pictures you can kind of take some credit :)
Here are some pictures and videos and that I took yesterday!

Last Roots of 2010-2011

Tonight was the last night of Roots of the 2010-2011 school year! This year has been a blast. It has been different with only having three people and bring Kaden into the band but it was awesome! We saw God answer prayers every month in giving us grace to sound good and be excellent. Something kind of funny that happened this year was that at every Roots I was at least a little sick. I would be fine the day before and then wake up with a cold. That doesn't just happen every month for one day. As I was thinking about it today I was thankful for two things.
1. Even though Satan really wants to destroy us and make everything go wrong, it backfires in his face and makes us seek God even more. I am soooo glad that God is on our side. In your face devil!
2. God humbles me whenever I am sick and have to sing because naturally I want to take credit for what I do and I want the glory...even thought I didn't give myself the ability to sing and play piano. So I am thankful that if I am sick it makes me give the glory to God if I do sound good because it wasn't because of me.
Anyway, it was a great year and I loved seeing how God uses Roots on Grand View's campus!  Here are some pics I made Marissa take so that I could have some documentation from this year and a video.

A Night with the Nieces

Last night was one of the most fun and crazy nights I have had in a while and I attribute it all to Leelia and Elena. It took a little while for Elena to warm up to me but Leelia helped the situation by making her laugh non-stop. I love being an aunt. It is the best job anyone could ask for. I can't believe how big the girls are getting...it makes me feel old. But I get so excited to see them change! I asked Leelia where the rain comes from and she said that Jesus put it in the sky. Then I asked her where babies come from and she said the hospital. She is right on track in developmental psychology! The highlight of my night was dinner. Leelia kept begging for chocolate milk so I would sing the song called "I love chocolate milk". Well she changed the words to "I love chocolate Liz" and hilarity ensued. Here are a couple videos from the laughter!

If I could choose any subject to photograph all the time it would definitely be these girls! I love catching their funny faces and smiles. Here are some from last night!

This is what happens when you tell her not to smile

Doing her dance on her stage

 Playing together...kind of nicely!

 Silly Face

So pretty!

Gigglefest...look at how much they like each other!

This is when she was calling me chocolate Liz

 I couldn't get a really good one...but good enough!

Big O turns 1!

Last night, Owen Schreiner turned one year old. I can't believe that he is that old already. Jenny and Jon had a party for him and I was so happy to be a part of it. They are two very gracious and hospitable people. And I am thankful that they allow us to be such a big part of Owen's life. There were a couple times that even I got anxious at how many people there were holding him. They are great parents to a great toddler! Here are some pics from getting ready for the party and the party.

Leelia Rae

Today I got to hang out with one of the two best nieces in the world, Leelia Rae VanderSchel. Okay, she has her moments of naughtiness, but who doesn't? I took some pictures of her since we played outside and blew bubbles and it got me to look at all the other pictures of her throughout the last couple years. She is such a cutie pants! I am honored to get the opportunity to watch her grow up and turn into a sassy little girl :)
Here is a funny little Leelia saying from today:
Liz: Leelia do bumblebees have wings?
Leelia: No they have flaps.
Liz: Which ones have wings?
Leelia: Dead ones.
It was great :) I love never knowing what she is going to say!

Here are some pictures over the last few years!
