Republica Dominicana: Day 5, 2012

Day 5:
Wednesday, March 21, 2012

Today was day three on the campus at the University. We keep praying that God would keep us safe and healthy and every day he has been faithful in answering. He also has been answering my own prayers of giving me grace with communicating with people. Today Jeff and I went sharing at a little circle of benches and when we would share with one person someone else would come over that would speak English who we could talk to. It was crazy, we were able to talk to several different people in English in about an hour and a half. At English club, Rocio made the decision to give her life to Christ. It was unbelievable to see her understanding of the gospel and even the implications it had on her life. God gives so much grace to communicate between each other and to see the way she realized she was a sinner and that she needed Christ and wanted to accept him right then was so great. I can't reiterate too many times that God deserves all the glory when people understand the gospel, it definitely wasn't anything I said. I am so thankful for our english groups. I will miss every single one of the people we have been able to meet. A few people have been consistently coming and I love spending time with them and getting to know them. People here really are the friendliest. We hung out by the English building and talked to a lot of people who wanted to practice their English. We also celebrated Paola's birthday today! She turned twenty-six so we brought candy for everyone at the English Club and sang her happy birthday in English...twice. She is wonderful so I hope she felt loved. We also asked Joana what the word for wanderer was in Spanish. So Jeff's knew nickname is el vagabundo because he is always the one that is getting lost.
